FAQ

Your Questions, Answered

Building a custom trailer is a big decision. Here’s what most people want to know before they reach out.

GETTING STARTED
What’s the first step to getting a Twain Trailer?
Fill out the build inquiry form at twaintrailers.com/build-configure or call/text Michael at 417-413-4750. We’ll get on a call to talk through your setup — what you’re hauling, where you’re going, and what add-ons make sense for your build.
How custom can I get?
Fully custom. The build starts with what you’re hauling — motorcycles, kayaks, fishing rigs, ATVs, hunting gear, you name it. We design the tie-down system, mounting points, and add-ons around your specific gear. No cookie-cutter configurations.
Do I need to know exactly what I want before I reach out?
No. Most people come to us with a general idea. “I want to haul my two bikes and sleep on top” is enough to start the conversation. We figure out the details together.
BASE BUILD & OPTIONS
What is the base build?
The base build is a trailer platform built to order around your load. Rooftop tents, mounts, and other accessories are available as options by inquiry; they are not included in the base build.
What is quoted separately?
Pull-out kitchen systems are quoted separately — we work with a specialty builder out of California based on your layout. Freight is not included; it is arranged separately, or you can pick up in Ozark. Custom paint colors (non-black) add to the lead time — ask us.
Is there a deposit?
Yes. Details are worked out during your build consultation.
Is freight included?
No — freight is not included. You’re welcome to pick up in Ozark, Missouri, or we can help you arrange freight separately.
THE BUILD PROCESS
How long does the build take?
60 days for black finish. 90 days for custom colors. We’ll confirm your timeline during the build consultation.
Where are the trailers built?
By hand in Ozark, Missouri.
Can I pick up my trailer instead of having it shipped?
Absolutely — pickup in Ozark, Missouri is welcome and the simplest option. If you’d rather not make the trip, freight can be arranged separately.
Can I make changes once the build starts?
Changes early in the process are usually fine. Changes after fabrication begins depend on what stage we’re at. Talk to Michael — we’ll figure it out.
TOWING & COMPATIBILITY
What do I need to tow a Twain Trailer?
A Class 1 hitch can tow, but a Class 2 is preferred. We spec the build around your tow vehicle — if you tell us what you’re driving, we’ll make sure it works. Any class of hitch can be made to work depending on the build.
Will it fit in my garage?
Depends on the build. Share your garage dimensions during the consultation and we’ll design around it where possible.
What’s the trailer’s gross weight?
It varies by build configuration. We’ll give you exact specs with your quote.
PRODUCT FACTS
Does the trailer have electric brakes?
No electric brakes.
What hoop sizes are available?
Hoops are available in 38, 46, and 60 inches.
Are mounts included?
Mounts are inquire-only and specified to your gear.
ROOFTOP TENTS
Are rooftop tents included?
No. Rooftop tents and mounts are available as options by inquiry. Ask about fit and availability; they are not included in the base build.
Can I use a tent I already own with your mounts?
Yes. Mounts are inquire-only and we can build the rack system around the tent you own.
Can I add a rooftop tent later?
Yes. Rooftop tents and mounts are available options; tell us what you want and we.ll work it into the inquiry.
WARRANTY & SUPPORT
What’s the warranty?
1-year manufacturer warranty on workmanship. Accessories — tents, lighting, solar components, etc. — carry their own manufacturer warranties which are passed through to you.
What if something breaks after delivery?
Call or text Michael at 417-413-4750. We stand behind our work.
